Very few have not been touched by the recent passing of the greatness that was Nelson Mandela. Many people have put their opinions across and had their say on the man, what he stood for, how he lived his life, what he meant to them few have gather their words together as eloquently and precisely as Musa Okwonga. In two superb pieces Musa puts his views and love of the man across touching on different aspects. One a little more hard hitting the other more heartfelt.
As always with Musa’s work i find it hard not to relate and also feel his emotions wether listening to or reading the words. I can only admire his brilliance! Take both in and stay abreast of Musa’s work here.

I had a throughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon as well as witnessing some wonderful results in the football, i had the pleasure of watching the Hunger Games films back to back. I think they are a quite amazing portrayal of the life we live and how to a certain degree we are experiencing it at this very moment. Musa Okwonga took some time to put a short eloquent piece together on the “Hunger Games” and his take on it. It speaks for itself really and the current experience for young people today, and i couldn’t agree more.

Throughly recommend you go and check out the two Hunger Game films if you haven’t already (believe the hype) and read more of Musa’s thoughts on a vast range of worldly goings on (including football) here.

Big fan of the work of Musa Okwonga and last week he dropped some new visuals for his latest project The Kings Will where he combines his poetic genius with producer Giles electronic beats. The results as you can hear are quality and Naomi Gilbert has come up with some funny fitting visuals to tell the tale of the track. The guys launch the project at the next Poejazzi next month get your tickets here.
