Powerful performance and piece from rising poet Nego True. Recorded at his performance at Busk on The Box he delivers an inspired piece on stepping up and taking responsibility for your life. It is a superb performance the emotion that fills his voice is reminiscent of a certain Deanna Rodger in full flow. Love the piano too which only heightens the drama of the piece helping it leave the message on the leader that is intended. Inspirational quality.

I can’t remember coming across too much group poetry in my years on the circuit but this is a strong well rehearsed performance of a piece that is quite powerful and sad, full of sentiment. I don’t know too much about Rhythm of Men but if this is anything to go by i am sure this will not be the last time they are featured on this website!

Shouts to Poetical TV for capturing the performance and Dean and Deanna for providing the platform at Come Rhyme With Me!

3 members of the Chill Pill collective Raymond Antrobus, Adam Kammerling and Deanna Rodger were invited to take to the stage at the Ted X talk earlier this year. They used the poets to deliver poems on Preconception to the crowd. All three delivered 3 of their classic most loved poems to have the crowd entertained and educated. Brilliant as always! Spoken word continues to rise.

The next Chill Pill event is a pretty awesome one click here for more details.

Deanna Rodger never fails to bring the truth and she does again in this interestingly shot video of Deanna’s “Love Ambitions”. She goes in on the feelings that true love bring when it hits you and you find that someone that you want to be everything to. The visuals (filmed by Theresa Varga) do a great job showing different sides of Deanna and strays a little on the abstract side but that keeps you engaged and watching.
As with most of the poetry pieces we post here be sure to watch again you’ll surely hear something you missed the first time round!

Recently one of our favourite poets Deanna Rodger was invited to speak at the Ted X Southark. She used the platform talk about working with young people and a love of writing encouraging all with something to say to pick up a pen and get some paper. She leads into a piece on a poetry which i’m sure if you listen hard enough will reveal aspects of our culture that really need to change.
As always with Deanna she draws you in with her passion and performance that causes you to do nothing else but listen and take it in. Watch listen and spread her message.

The good people at Upshot present their new series Upshot Poetry featuring some of the best poets around reciting pieces for the camera.  This video features one of my favourite performers Deanna Rodger. She always brings passion and power to every performance and very rarely disappoints. Watch listen and enjoy.

Plenty more to come.
