YJ dropped a new project last week and it is HARD! The title pulls no punches and it is exactly the same with the lyrics and music. The intro below is my favourite track. Most likely due to the musicality of it (be sure to listen right the way through the track breathes so nicely) and the straight realness of his lyrics. I’m pretty sure there are lyrics here that every up and comer can relate to. But yeah it is another fine body of work get into it and spread the word YJ is killing it!
The incredible incidents that occurred last week and influenced so many creative is now coming out in their art and YJ gets straight in there taking the topic on headfirst titling the track “BLACK LIVES MATTER”. Powerful hard hitting lyrics that are meant to encourage and inspire the movement and I think he does just that in the only way he can with quality beats and rhymes. Salute YJ.
The OrphGang boys are back at it again with a new track and video showing off the team and their combined talent strength and energy. It’s really simply but I love the way it shows them all off individuals and family at the same time. I can’t say I have a favourite verse they’re all strong. Without doubt something powerful is happening here.
I think i’m going to have to watch this a couple of times to get my head around this video cos i’m still a little baffled but I like that its not your standard HipHop video. YJ and the camp bring something a little fresh and different with this offering for “Do You Think About Me”. No TinyMan cameo but his verse is still there and strong!!!
I already said it when this track first dropped at the top of the year YJ ain’t playing this year. 2016 was a statement of intent and the visuals make that statement even clearer. The visuals are just as hard as the track and in fact emphasise the hardness making it even harder. As always great to see the OrphGang crew in place that make it even stronger with a couple of cameo bars in there. Releasing it through SBTV is again another signal of a rapper/lyrisct who may perhaps feel he is not getting quite the shine that his ability and calibre should command. If he carry’s on like this it won’t happen for much longer.
A dark love song from YJ for valentines. I say dark not because of the lyrics but the beats and production are dark almost menacing. Not your typical luvvy duvvy piece from YJ but as always gives examples of his killer flow and after 2016 leaves more evidence that you won’t be able to put YJ in any kinda here box with his releases this year.
Little bit grimey for Music is Remedy but I can’t deny the quality of this one. YJ and Christopher Blacc on the northbound Blackwall Tunnel approach go HARD on the one take freestyle firing off bars going back to back. and even sitting in the car with the camera in the back seat they still deliver quite the performance. I do love the ending where its like the last 2 minutes hadn’t even happened.
YJ delivering his second stellar offering of the year beginning to feel like this could be a breakthrough year for him. All hail OrphGang!
Statement of intent for 2016 dropped by YJ last night and boy did it hit the spot. The tune is hard, tune is banging and really and truly all about his flow and like i said at the top intent for 2016. Strong start sir strong start lets see what else is to come.
New music from the Orpg Gang camp with YJ jumping on a sparse mellow but heavy beat reciting rhymes on love lost and the ability to sing even when you can’t sing. TinyMan chips in with a verse for good value bringing his own brand of charisma to the track. Dopeness.
More footage from our Unbelievable Unsigned London stage at Streetfest a couple weeks back. The stage was headlined by a 50 minute ride of epicness from the mighty Orph Gang. The good people at Certified were on hand to capture 25 minutes of the genius, madness and goodness of the set. If there was a roof they would have taken it off!!! Check it out.
Big love To Certified UK for capturing this great peoples to checkout.
