This was really tough to put together and I missed out a lot of my favourite artists because there is just so much fantastic music out there. What a time to be alive the UK scene is thriving with quality artists and music. There is still undoubtedly work to be done  but when I look back on the decade and see the commercial successes of artists like Lianne La Havas, Tom Misch, Alfamist, Inua Ellams, Little Simz and longtime Remedy favourites Michael Kiwanuka, Shakka, Yomi Sode and of course Ed Sheeran the music scene Music is Remedy supports has grown massively and is in a good place.

Let’s keep pushing things forward:

Rukhsana Merrise. What this woman does with her sound is just magic. Refusing to go into any box she makes music, songs and art that she loves, that also bring the best out of her amazing vocal. This song is an embodiment of that. you hear country, you hear folk, you hear pop, you hear RnB, you hear soul, all these influences brought together and it works. Reasons why??? 1. Production is on point, 2. As I mentioned earlier the voice sounds wonderful on the track and keeps you hooked and 3. Its a bloody good song. A truly amazing artist that should not be slept on at all.

I know I posted an acoustic session from this artist last week and yes it is the same song but…. what a song it is! Beautifully captured by Mahogany Sessions Rukhsana Merrise performs her sublime “So They Say” down by the river. Can’t get enough of her sound style and voice… quality.

Currently touring around Europe and exposing the people on the continent to her fantastic songs and voice Rukhsana Merrise took some time out to record this acoustic session backstage before her show with AB. Sounding as beautiful as ever she is delightful. Loving the BV back up from her guitarist too adding to the sound. Quality vibes as always flying the flag fantastically well!

aaaahhhh this is so good. So good that all i should need to say really is Reload Sessions + Rukhsana Merrise = pure brilliance! Watch it and enjoy!!!

More gorgeousness from Rukhsana Merrise. The fourth track from her September Songs Series and much like its predecessors it doesn’t disappoint. Blurring the lines between folk country soul and pop with relative ease this lady is make good music pure and simple. Some wonderful chord and melody choices in the song with the steady beat and strings giving you the urge to sway whilst you soak up the vocals and guitars. Just so good i can not find fault at all sublime.

Social Archtieks bring their fourth Art Meets Music show of the year and once again they have some quality musicians to compliment the art on display including Music is Remedy favourite Rukhsana Merrise and rising spoken word talent Samuel King. Should be great.

I haven’t been able to take my ears away from this tune all morning. “Soon” is the third track taken from Rukhsana Merrise’s September songs series and for me easily the best. The production is both gorgeous and genreless. Got to say i’m lost for words right now i can only smile and bop my head listening to this tune. Awesome tune.

If you haven’t already checkout the rest of the September Song Series here.

New music from Incisive and its another piece of quality hip hop. Teaming up once again with one of the vocalists of the moment Rukhsana Merrise. As always with Incisive you get honest real lyrics flowing over a well produced beat built around some gorgeous instrumentation (loving the guitar licks throughout). Rukhsana does what she does sounding epic on the track providing the ice on a very tasty cake. The visuals are simple and slick doing exactly the job that it needs too. Once again Incisive maintains his ridiculously high standards can’t wait to hear the rest of the project.

Catching up on what i’ve missed and had to choose this as the first thing posted up. This lady is so good. Authentic original sound, genuine heartfelt lyrics and a voice of combined raw power and beauty that in moments takes the breath away. Quality artist if you don’t already know about Rukhsana Merrise please get to know.
