I don’t know what the deal is with this tune but its got his name on it so i’m gonna assume it’s his baby and post it because we all need this in our life. The 70s sunshine feel good sounds that are ooozzzing out of every second, sample, beat and horn line on this make you wanna dance and wash away those February winter blues. Yes Eric Lau YES!!!

“One of Many” was without question one of my favourite album’s of 2013. Eric Lau along with a group of his favourite gifted musicians and vocalists produced a wonderful body of work that was what i would call Hip Hop Soul at it’s finest. Now the DJ and Producer in Eric has decided to release a pure instrumental limited edition golden vinyl version of the album. Now you may raise an eyebrow when faced with the notion of listening to tracks that owe much of its aural pleasure to the vocals of Tawiah, Fatima and particularly Rahel amongst others. However as a testament to the brilliance of the mans music it works and “Here” is a perfect example of that. With the vocals gone you get to focus on the way the track explodes into the groove at the top and all of the subtle flute rifts that float in and out of the track and don’t get me started on that bass! I am sure many will use the instrumentals to cut samples and create their own goodness from it however the musical connoisseur that i am i will enjoy it in all its glory.

The Limited edition vinyl is available here. Get em before they’re gone.

This is ridiculous! Who said the UK can’t produce real and relevant HipHop music. Hawk House have been making waves for some time now i remember both Eric Lau and Ego Ella May putting me on to them and i have been watching their steady rise ever since and if this new single is anything to go by then they won’t be stopping soon. The track is taken from their forthcoming EP “A Handshake To The Brain” which drops at the end of the month and it is quality with everything i love about hip hop. Beats, rhymes and flow all on point and will have you bopping your head off! Visuals are just as dope!

Makesure you cop this when it drops pre-order here

This is a work of beauty and love. Tawiah and Eric Lau coming together to make music has been happening for many years now but this is the first time the two have put a joint project out together and it leaves you scratching your head wondering why we have had to wait so long for it. It is a very mellow affair as the production allows plenty of space for Tawiah’s superb vocals and sometimes overlooked songwriting ability to take centre stage. My favourite track is still the single “Favourite Thing” maybe because it’s the most uptempo number on here I just love the groove of it. The EP though is full of quality and as said at the top a thing of beauty get involved!

You can purchase the EP here.

Always a beautiful thing when these two get together on a record. Eric Lau and Tawiah combine once again for a new joint EP “Love Call” that is due to drop next week. This the first single has Lau’s signature beat and drive and soulful keys whilst Tawiah’s supreme songwriting ability once again shines through. Kaidi Tatham sprinkles some of his fairy dust over the record to make it even sweeter. Dope tune bring on the EP!

To celebrate 10,000 Likes on his Facebook page producer Eric Lau has dropped a special mix of one of my favourite tracks from his “One of Many” album. On the day the sun returns to the capital it is aptly titled the Sun Edit of the gorgeous track “Guide You”. When i gushed about the album previously i spoke of my love for Rahel’s vocals and this mix only enhances her tone and sound. There is also some just lovely instrumentation as the vocals fade and the track plays on. Just gorgeous sounds for a summers day! If you haven’t already get your hands on the Album here you won’t be disappointed and congrats Mr Lau!

For a minute let’s forget about Kanye, and J Cole dropping new albums. Let’s even forget about the Jay Z new album bombshell that the UK woke up to on Monday Morning. Let’s look at something that is prehaps a little more relevant to us. Monday saw the release of the sophomore album from much acclaimed DJ and Producer Eric Lau. Its been a good 5 years since Eric released his first album “New Territories”. Since then he’s performed DJ sets around the world, made new fans & friends, produced for artists and possibly most importantly he has grown. This album shows just that his growth. His formula of Hip hop beats alongside soulful warm melodic chords and vocals is still intact, but its been enhanced, taking his music to another level.
Longtime collaborators Tawiah and Rahel are on board for the bulk of the vocal work but there’s also appearances from Oddisee and Fatima. For me though Rahel steals show. There is something heavenly about her tones that combines so beautifully with Mr Lau’s production.
The progression shown here is immense and I feel he has proven himself as a heavyweight producer and beatmaker in his genre that everyone should be taking note of both sides of the atlantic. A soundtrack to perfection… Prehaps you decide you can stream the album on Okay Player here or you can take my word for it and get downloading album here

New music from beats master that is Eric Lau. Amazing to see just how this far man has come now rocking parties all over the world on DJ duties, teaching young people in London how to produce and working with some of the best artists to produce amazing tracks and this new beat is no different. The beat is tuff, synths haunting and guilty blesses the track very nicely. Single is released on Killawat music on Nov 18th be sure to check it out!!!
