My gosh this has got to be my favourite yet. Since launching Series 2 Get Lifted have dropped some awesome sessions but this is another level. Clare Dove has a just heavenly tone and sound to her voice that has you hooked from the first note. Its just so nice! Simply smooth and sublime and any other superlative you want to use. Pure quality i’m going to listen again now.

Shockingly I wasn’t to sure about this one to start with and given how much I love Tom Misch’s work however but the guitar comes in after 50 seconds and leads the track into a section that gets your head nodding and your shoulders bopping. Another dope instrumental from the producer/instrumentalist/singer in the lead up to his Beat Tape 2 that should be dropping in April. I can not wait!!!

Little Simz, Josh Arcé, Chuck 20 and Tilla Arcé are Space Age. Unannounced the collective dropped their first EP “The Theory Of”. As to be expected of anything that drops from the Little Simz camp the production pushes boundaries and the flow and lyrical content is just off the chain! Killer track off the EP is easily “No Reason”. The track is crazy! The future of UK hip hop is right here!

Raw harsh words set to a backdrop of some serious Jazz vibes and graphic images from the poet that is Anthony Anaxagorou. As always he takes on the issues of us and the western world articulating his thoughts with a realness, rhythm and honesty that sets his work apart from the rest. What i love is that despite the sad state of the world he exposes he still finds hope.

You’ll need more than one listen to take it all in but its time well spent.

New goodness from one of this country’s brightest yet unknown lights Andreya Triana. Her voice is just stunning. The stripped down verses expose its mature crisp classic tones almost dare i say Aretha-esque!

The track is taken from her forthcoming album “Giants” which is available to pre order now here.

Another great live performance with the full band from Raleigh Ritchie. Taking one of the more mellow cuts he dropped last year “Birthday Girl” the track builds from just vocals and guitar to a full band groove that builds intensity throughout without ever getting loud or noisy.

Pretty much loved every thing this guy did last year and i really cannot wait to get my ears around an album from the man. Quality innovative UK Music!

The 2014 winner of The Voice Jermaine Jackman passed through the Ont’Sofa studio to record this little acoustic mash up bringing together the current hit waves and Adele’s classic “Rolling in the Deep”. The two tracks come together nicely and he delivers it well showing off his unique vocal style. Would now really like to hear some original material from him, it has the potential to be a little bit special.

Props to Ont’Sofa for delivering once again.

Here’s a great way to start your week. Harry Baker was invited back to the TedX stage last November and once again he owns it. Providing insight and inspiration as he speaks about his own life with a mixture of passion, authenticity and comedy. Definitely something for everyone here. Enjoy.

Catch Harry Baker Live at Bang Said The Gun this Thursday. Details on our gigs page here.

As mentioned when I first posted Troy Hudson a couple of weeks ago this lady does RnB the right way and her latest video is a further testament to that. The fourth instalment in her PYT (Protect Your Throne) mini-series is the most explosive yet… literally! Great tune again with strong production (really nice piano breakdown towards the end) and vocals and the video does exactly what you would expect from a tune like this.

Very good job here’s hoping she will be making the breakthroughs this year that her talent is definitely worthy of!

You can’t keep a good night down!!! Back for 2015 after another successful 2014 Close Up return at a new venue in North London but the same goodness of emerging music talent and vibes. This first show is headlined by the superb Anne-Marie Lataille
