Footage from YJ’s recent performance at I Luv Live. Clips of the hype track Spazz causing the crowd to go nuts (apart from one girl in the front who keeps her arms folded the whole time)! And the brilliant “Where do we go” featuring the wonderful Ruhksanna Merrise. You also get to hear from the man himself talking about his influences and what is to come. Looking forward to “Deal Or No Deal 2″ already!

A few weeks ago Shakka dropped a remix to MNEK’s summertime jam “Wrote A Song About You” featuring Shakka flipping the tune on its head and dropping some bars over it too. Obviously it was a banger! So Shakka teamed up with longtime collaborators House Of Alt (guys behind the Shakkapella visuals) to film a quick Lyric video for it. It’s not the full track just Shakka’s bars and a chorus but as expected it is like no other lyric video that you have ever seen! Quality visuals and of course Shakka is a natural in front of the camera. Enjoy!

The man never fails to deliver. Another mellow, soul tinged, hiphop infused production from probably my favourite Artist/Producer of the year Tom Misch. Tom lays down his trademark casual cool vocal lines and is assisted by Loyle Carner with additional vocals. As always there are some trademark guitar licks in there too. Quality!

Last week we posted “More Than Poetry” the second track from Raphael Blake’s forthcoming project “The Undergrad”. There are now some visuals to go with it. A simple black and white shoot that makes you focus on the words and get to know the man.
If you like what you hear catch Raphael Live ate Remedy Open this Thursday @ Juno Bar Shoreditch and its a free gig!

Every Thursday in August our good friends at Juno Bar have held a Live Art event called Open + Live where 4 artists are given a canvas to work on throughout the night creating magic with their pens, pencils and brushes. Next Thursday we will be gatecrashing with a slight change to our usual open mic format. As Street Art has a great connection with Hip Hop and lyricism we have invited some of the capitals best lyricists down to perform whilst the artists create. Performances on the night from Franklyn, Raphael Blake and one half of Reality Music RIMZ Artist.

Gonna be a great night with plenty of good vibes and it free come join us. We kick off at 7.30pm

Over the last couple of weeks RKZ has been dropping singles from this project and last night the Mixtape dropped and i can’t say it disappoints. Blending Hip Hop, Soul and Spoken Word (look at that everything we’re about) throughout the mixtape there is something for everyone here. Each track is well produced with little live elements giving it a very 2014 sound. Favourites would be the single “Still Ocean” and also “A song to drink tea to” (love that title). Good vibes throughout and its free to download… no reason not to give it a stream or download and enjoy.

Earlier in the week we featured a video from the roundhouse Poetry Slam 2014 Runner up Maria Ferguson and its only right that we post the video of the winner Vanessa Kisuule with her superb slam winning performance. Its a touching relatable piece with humour thrown in for good measure. Catch Vanessa supporting Hollie McNish in Bath sure to be a great show.

I know next to nothing about this pair but i do know this is something pretty dope and that your ears need to hear. Pure vibes from start to finish with the only sour note that this is far too short! But i suppose leaving someone wanting something more is rarely a bad thing here’s hoping there is more to come. Quality!

Singer-Songwriter Shan Smile has over the last couple of months been dropping a selection of different covers performing in them in her own Shan Smile style. This one for me is the best of the bunch. Taking the track “Ready Aim” from Mali Music this is all kinds of awesome. Subtle and simple Shan’s delivery is deadly as she sings “Fire you can’t catch me now” it certainly hooked me in. I can’t say i know the original but i can’t believe she doesn’t do it justice, this is superb.

If you like it download for free!

Bianca Rose is one of the loveliest souls i have had the pleasure to work with in the history of Music Is Remedy. Her songwriting has always been second to none with a vocal sound, character and tone that is instantly recognisable. Warm soul and folk with a lickle tinge of reggae flavourings would be her style if you could give it a name and it works wonderfully. In preparation for the launch of her new album Bianca dropped this video with a 3 song acoustic performance set and also a few words from the lady her self talking about her and her album. Get to know if you don’t already and if you do…. fall in love again.
