Hayley Cassidy’s talent is just undeniable. It doesn’t mater how long she leaves it between giving us some music her voice still owns every track.
This is a great reflective track looking back and thinking back about how things were, when life was that much easier. The RnB production is onpoint and I love the way she rides the beat at the at the end as it picks up.
I was hoping this single would lead to more but nothing has dropped as of yet. I do hope that at somepoint in 2019 we do get an album from Hayley. I can’t not think it would be something very very special.
Two longtime Music is Remedy favourites Cherri V and Sincerely Wilson combined to deliver this modern day RnB classic.
Vocally the two are impeccable complimenting each other beautifully. The way they are able to use their voices and tone to show the emotions of the song is so impressive and the production really does allow their voices to just shine.
Taken from the quality EP Brown Eyed Soul Vol 1 full of decent RnB songs that see Cherri do what she does best with her powerhouse vocal. Check it out.
(hopefully next year)! If you love RnB go check it!
One of the first releases this year to really grab my attention. Jermaine Riley dropped the Midas Touch project and started the years RnB revolution laying down a marker for the quality standards that artists needed to bring.
This was my favourite cut probably the Jamaican in me but I loved hear Jermaine dropping the smooth RnB vocal and taking it to the dancehall coming like a singjay. Still love the Beyonce Fiance rhyme in there. He really did take on this Busta track and brucked it up proper!!! Actually this is much more enjoyable.
A enjoyable easy to listen to project. A great marker of what to expect when Jermaine blesses us with an album

Probably one of the most slept on projects of the year. In spring time Nate Williams dropped these 5 cuts of glorious soul pop rnb goodness featuring the quite brilliant “Lucky me”.
Its the kinda song you have playing when you’re strolling down the street, the sun is shining, everything is blessesd and your other half is just making you smile.
As always Nate’s musicianship is second to none with some ridiculous runs (second verse… MATE) and a nice steady build up that leads to a sick guitar solo, groove and breakdown before it finishes on a high. Could quite happily keep listening to him riffing over that last chorus for hours. You can’t help but shake your head and sing along as you learn the lyrics Such a TUNE!
All instruments bar the guitar solo and congas by Nate himself too!!! Ridiculous! Do delve into this project he really doesn’t disappoint pure quality.
I’ve been a big fan of Tom Misch for years now and one of the highlights of this year was getting my hands on his album. It didn’t disappoint. A strong solid soulful body of work they gave me everything I wanted to hear on a Tom Misch record. This track for me highlighted that.
The tune is all about the groove. His trademark soulful guitar complement the salsa infused keys and bass and it is just a vibe.
I love the Tiny Desk version performance because 1 I love live music and all the lovely little extra touches that you can add with full band to give you that different experience. 2 of course throwing in the sax is just awesome and gonna grab me. The tone of the saxophone is gorgeous, a wonderful solo.
3 The album version is dope and also shows the growth of Tom as an artist in getting De La Soul world-renowned legendary hip hop artists to come on his debut album and do what they do best. But what I love about this version is that he can replace De La Soul with a guitar solo and a saxophone solo and the tunes still bumps hard!!!
It is quality love his progression love everything he’s doing with his music I can’t wait do you to hear what he cooks up next!
Mundu just dropped his new EP “Qollapse” and it is a quality piece of futuristic RnB confirming his status as one of the artists that you need to be looking out for. Combining synths and vocals to create warm musical landscapes with an RnB flava. This is clearly displayed in my favourite cut “Sycamore Tree” 6 minutes of bliss that belie his age and experience. So much quality and you can’t not think he’ll only get better and better.
Carnival weekend what better time to drop a dancehall banger with an international acclaimed artist? So Shakka digs into his West Indian West London Caribbean roots and pulls along Mr Vegas to give you this crazy beat.
This guy just gets bigger and bigger and bigger epic movements with the quality go back it up
Without doubt if this track is anything to go by Amber Simone is a name you will be hearing more and more of over the coming months. This track genre less in its brilliance leaves you just wanting more and more and more. Her incredible vocal leaving you to question whether it is a boy or a girl is class and the production is off the chain and hard to define as anything other than DOPE. Get to know peeps get to know.
Sometimes an artist comes along that wasn’t on your radar and just delivers a quality product that just makes you stop and applaud. No words needed just an appreciation of the quality you have just heard. This is how i’m feeling about Shiv’s “About Time” EP that just dropped. A real poised slice of RnB Soul that just sounds complete. The track below “Refuge” is a prime example of how good this project is and what a sensational vocalist Shiv is. Go check it out and get involved.
Its been the longest time coming but fresh from supporting Julian Marley Dionne ReId gives us a first taster of her forthcoming mixtape”Soundcheck”. This is some proper Reggae with Dionne’s trademark soulful vocals over the track. She sounds great and if this is anything to go by this mixtape will be FIRE!
